Heather Brown
"If you’ve been to Stanley’s, chances are we've met. Behind the girl at the bar, I am also a nurse, music lover and community servant. Tyler is my home, where I've lived my whole life. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler, currently working as a bartender and a forensic nurse. I am certified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner through the Texas Attorney General’s Office. I care for patients at UT Health Tyler. Yes, that’s right! I do both - bartending and nursing. I have a deep passion for the hospitality industry. I've been behind the bar for over 17 years. This December will mark 8 years of nursing. I love people and life; the two professions of bartending and nursing totally parallel.
A fun fact about me
"My family, friends, and animals mean everything to me. I am an eternal optimist. You can always count on a smile when you're hanging with me. In my spare time I enjoy music, traveling, and baseball. Let's Go Rangers! PS: Here's some life advice - never miss the chance to see your favorite band. :)"
Why I feel inspired to be a Woman Of Hope
"There has been so much work put into ending and raising awareness of sex trafficking, but there is still so much to be done. This is not an easy subject to discuss, but the conversations need to be had! I am grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness and funds to support this organization, alongside incredible, like-minded women with hearts full of compassion for others. These victims and their families need the support from For The Silent. Together we can make a difference! "
Community Involvement:
"I love to give back to my community and do so through the Junior League of Tyler. I am currently serving as the Mistletoe & Magic Parties Co-Chair. I joined Junior League in 2014. I love the mission of For The Silent, and what For The Silent provides for our community. I am excited to participate as a Woman Of Hope. I hope you will join me in supporting this cause. "
