Patricia Glass
I've called Tyler, Texas, my home for many years, deeply immersing myself in its vibrant community and dedicating my career to nonprofit work. My journey in fostering community growth and advocating for the vulnerable is driven by a belief in the transformative power of collective action. As a seasoned nonprofit professional, I've had the privilege of spearheading impactful projects, such as the Affiliation Program at the East Texas Center for Nonprofits and founding Neurodivergent Advocates of East Texas. Beyond my professional roles, I'm a family person at heart, finding joy in the little moments spent with loved ones and my extended community family.
A fun fact about me
I have a passion for exploring the great outdoors, especially through hiking the beautiful trails around East Texas. It's a way for me to connect with nature, find peace, and gather inspiration for my work in the community.
Why I feel inspired to be a Woman Of Hope
Being nominated as a Woman of Hope resonates deeply with my lifelong commitment to advocacy and empowerment. The mission of For The Silent—to end sex trafficking and exploitation by empowering the voices of vulnerable youth—echoes my core belief in the power of hope over fear. My passion for community well-being and my dedication to creating a safer, more supportive environment for every child and youth inspire me to contribute to this cause actively. Standing up for those who can't defend themselves is not just an obligation; it's an honor.
Community Involvement:
Aside from my professional endeavors, I'm a Court Appointed Special Advocate and engage with several organizations, including the Women’s Fund of Smith County, Leadership Tyler, and the Tyler Young Professional Network. My roles on the boards of The Association for Fundraising Professionals and Discovery Science Place have been particularly rewarding, allowing me to contribute to the growth and enrichment of our community. Each role has been a stepping stone in my journey to advocate for and support the most vulnerable among us, a journey I'm excited to continue as a Woman of Hope.
